Samyang 21mm T1.5 ED AS UMC CS Cine Lens

Samyang 21mm T1.5 ED AS UMC CS VDSLR Cine Lens is the cine / video version of the Samyang 21mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC CS lens featuring the same excellent optics, but with integrated gearing for video rigs with follow focus systems.

The Samyang 21mm cine lens is a manual focus lens for mirrorless cameras with APS-C or smaller sized sensor. Equivalent to standard - wide 31.5mm on 1.5x crop APS-C sensor, 34mm on 1.6x Crop (Canon M) or a standard 42mm lens on 2x crop MFT sensor. A great manual focus, low light lens, perfectly suited as a standard prime, fixed focal length walk around lens with general photographic applications.

The VDSLR version features uncoupled aperture and focus gear ring, perfectly suited to video and cine use, and mounting on follow focus rigs.

Samyang 21mm T1.5 ED AS UMC CS allows more controlled filming operation with T stops number marks, and aperture that is quietly and smoothly controlled with the uncoupled aperture gear rings. As with all the cine series, the distance scales and T numbers are marked on both sides of the lens for convenience.

The Samyang 21mm adds to Samyangs existing cinema lens line up, fitting nicely between the current dedicated mirrorless lens series which are the wide angle 12mm and short telephoto 50mm lenses.

The Samyang 21mm features Samyang’s exceptional optical technology, with eight glass elements in seven optical groups, including one extra low dispersion lens (ED) and three glass aspherical lenses (ASP) to minimize the unnecessary light dispersion and deliver super high resolution throughout the centre to corner of image. The lens also features Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) to optimize the light penetration and minimize flare and ghost. With a minimum focusing distance of only 0.28m it is a versatile lens for relatively close focus work.

Fast T1.5 aperture with the 9 circular aperture blades are designed to offer subject separation and limited depth of field photography with beautiful out of focus areas (bokeh). The solid frame of the lens is made of high-strength aluminium alloy. As the lens is specifically designed for the mirrorless Compact System Cameras (CSC) such as Sony NEX / ILCE, Olympus PEN / OM-D, Panasonic Lumix G, Blackmagic MFT mount video / cine cameras, Fujifilm X, and Canon EOS M series the Samyang 21mm is compact and lightweight, weighing approximately 275g, making it a very portable lens.

Supplied with removable lens hood, and front and rear lens caps. Available for 4 mirrorless camera mounts: Sony E, Micro Four Thirds (MFT), Fujifilm X mount and Canon M. Accepts standard screw in filters: Filter size: 58mm
